I built a fully functioning Chrome extension in about 10 minutes.
I used the new GLM 5.2 model to build it. It’s open-weight, open-source and incredibly cost-effective for coding tasks while still being reliable and delivery high-quality outputs (not sponsored, just sharing because I like it a lot).
Once you run the prompt, here’s how you install it:
1️⃣ Save the files generated by GLM 5.2 (or whichever AI model you choose for this) into a folder on your computer.
2️⃣ Open Google Chrome, click the three dots in the top right, and go to Extensions ➡️ Manage Extensions (or type chrome://extensions/ in your search bar).
3️⃣ Toggle on Developer Mode in the top right-hand corner.
4️⃣ Click Load unpacked in the top left, and select your folder.
Just like that, your custom extension is installed and ready to use.
